Hu emphasizes the tremendous progress China and the Chinese people have made, especially in these last 90 years, building socialism with Chinese characteristics, unity of the party and people, reform and openness, rejection of dogma and corruption, and the challenges ahead in building a socialist and sustainable economy, a "moderately prosperous" country, socialist democracy and culture and world peace.

The Communist Party of China was founded 90 years ago today, which was an epoch-making event in the history of the Chinese nation. From then on, the Chinese people embarked on the bright road of striving for independence and liberation and began the glorious pursuit of prosperity and strength for the country and themselves.
